🧵 The CLIK CLAK clasp
The CLIK CLAK wooden clasp with square bead is the perfect accessory for anyone who wants to give their handmade creations a professional and refined touch. Made of natural wood with a 2.5cm decorative colored resin bead, it combines vintage aesthetics with modern functionality thanks to the built-in magnetic closure system. Available in 20 color variants, it suits every bag style: from classic to contemporary, from romantic to minimalist.
Measuring 20x8cm, this clasp is ideal for medium and large bags, elegant pouches, evening clutches, and beauty cases. The wide format ensures stability and durability, while the built-in magnet allows for quick and secure opening and closing. Perfect for crochet projects, creative sewing, and ribbon crafts.
🧬 Materials and design: why it works
The natural wood of the structure offers lightness, durability, and a warm, handcrafted look that enhances every type of bag. Unlike metal or plastic clasps, wood does not weigh down the creation and adds a refined vintage touch. The natural finish pairs perfectly with natural fibers such as cotton, linen, jute, and ribbon, but works just as well with modern and synthetic fabrics.
The 2.5cm colored resin square bead adds a distinctive decorative element that transforms a simple clasp into a stylish detail. Available in 20 colors, it allows you to coordinate the clasp with the bag's yarn or fabric, or to create striking color contrasts. The resin is impact-resistant and retains its color brilliance over time without fading or scratching easily.
📦 Dimensions and format
The clasp measures 20cm in width and 8cm in height for the wooden part, with the square bead adding another 2.5cm to the total height. These dimensions make it ideal for medium and large bags with an opening between 18 and 22cm. It is perfect for evening clutches, elegant pouches, standard-sized crossbody bags, and beauty cases.
The wide format ensures a secure grip and stable closure even for full bags. If you are making a crocheted or sewn bag, keep in mind that the clasp requires a top edge of at least 20cm to be properly fastened. We recommend checking the dimensions of your project before purchasing to ensure compatibility.
🧶 Assembly and application
Assembling the CLIK CLAK clasp is simple and requires no special tools. The package includes the fastening screws: simply position the clasp on the top edge of the bag, mark the fastening points, and screw it through the pre-drilled holes. The screws pass through the fabric or yarn and fasten securely, ensuring a long-lasting hold even with daily use.
The clasp is compatible with crochet, fabric, leather, and ribbon. For crochet projects, we recommend reinforcing the top edge with a double row of single crochet stitches before applying the clasp. For thin fabrics, it is useful to add an internal reinforcement strip (e.g., heat-activated interfacing) to prevent the weight of the clasp from deforming the edge. The included side shoulder strap hooks allow you to convert the bag into a shoulder bag, adding versatility.
✨ Why choose this CLIK CLAK clasp
Compared to traditional button magnetic clasps, the wooden CLIK CLAK offers a structured and visible design that becomes an integral part of the bag's aesthetic. It is not just a hidden functional accessory, but a decorative element that enhances the handcrafted work. The combination of wood + colored bead creates an elegant contrast that works on both casual bags and more refined models.
The built-in magnet ensures a secure and quick closure without the metallic noise typical of traditional snap clasps. It opens and closes with a natural gesture, without the need to press or force it. This makes it ideal for anyone who uses their bag daily and seeks practicality without compromising on style. Furthermore, the included shoulder strap hooks eliminate the need to purchase additional accessories.
🎨 What you can create
This clasp is perfect for medium-sized crocheted bags made with ribbon, cotton, or wool. It also works great for elegant ceremony pouches, evening clutches sewn in fine fabric, and handmade beauty cases. Thanks to the 20 available colors, you can match the bead with the yarn or create striking color contrasts. It is also ideal for vintage 1960s-70s style bags, where the natural wood recalls the retro aesthetic.
👩🎨 Who it is suitable for
This clasp is suitable for both beginners and experienced crafters. The screw assembly is simple and intuitive, requiring no special technical skills. If it is your first time applying a CLIK CLAK clasp, we recommend doing a positioning test before permanently drilling the fabric. For those who work with crochet, it is important to reinforce the top edge of the bag to ensure optimal hold.
It is perfect for hobbyists making bags for personal use or as gifts, but also for artisans who sell handmade creations and are looking for quality accessories at an affordable price. The variety of colors allows you to create coordinated collections or customize each bag based on the customer's requests.
