🧵 The placemat

The LacariaRicami plastic-coated placemat with pocket is designed for those seeking practicality without compromising functionality. Made from 74% cotton and 26% polyester, it combines the softness of natural fibers with the durability of synthetic material, featuring a plastic-coated surface that repels liquids and stains. The foam backing ensures stability on the table and prevents slipping during meals for the little ones.

Measuring 43x32 cm and featuring a 10x16 cm front pocket, this placemat is perfect for holding cutlery, a napkin, or straws. Ideal for children's breakfast, nursery, kindergarten, or everyday use at home, it can be cleaned in seconds with a damp cloth.

🧬 Technical composition: why it works

The 74% cotton ensures breathability and a soft feel, making the placemat comfortable even for the youngest children. The natural fiber absorbs residual moisture and keeps the surface pleasant to the touch, while the outer plastic coating creates a waterproof barrier that protects the underlying fabric from liquids, crumbs, and stubborn stains.

The 26% polyester increases wear resistance and helps the placemat retain its shape over time, preventing deformation after repeated use. The foam backing adds a non-slip grip, which is essential when the placemat is used by children who tend to move during meals. This combination makes the product durable, practical, and safe for everyday use.

📦 Dimensions and cutlery pocket

The placemat measures 43 cm wide by 32 cm high, ideal dimensions for setting a complete place setting without taking up too much space. The 10x16 cm front pocket is positioned to comfortably hold a set of children's cutlery, a folded napkin, or small accessories such as straws or teaspoons.

This solution is particularly appreciated in kindergartens and nurseries, where each child can have their own placemat with everything they need already organized. At home, it simplifies everyday table setting and teaches the little ones about order at the table. The compact dimensions make it easy to store the placemat in a backpack or drawer.

🧶 Plastic-coated surface: everyday practicality

The plastic-coated surface is this placemat's main advantage. Unlike 100% cotton placemats, which absorb liquids and require frequent machine washing, the plastic coating creates a waterproof barrier that repels water, fruit juices, milk, and other liquids typical of children's meals. This means fewer washes, less water and energy consumption, and more time saved.

To clean it, simply wipe it with a damp cloth or a sponge with mild detergent: in a few seconds, the placemat looks as good as new. There is no need to machine wash it after every use, except for particularly stubborn stains. This feature makes it ideal for everyday use, especially in settings where quick cleaning is essential, such as school canteens, nurseries, or quick breakfasts before heading out.

✨ Why choose this placemat

Compared to traditional cotton placemats, this plastic-coated placemat solves the problem of constant washing. It does not absorb stains, requires no pre-treatment, and can be cleaned instantly. Compared to pure PVC placemats, it features a foam backing that ensures comfort and stability, preventing it from slipping on the table during use.

The integrated pocket is a practical added benefit: it eliminates the need for separate cutlery holders, keeps everything tidy, and teaches children how to organize their place at the table. For families with young children, nursery and kindergarten educators, this placemat represents a daily time saving measurable in minutes every day.

🎨 What you can do with it

This placemat is versatile and suitable for many everyday settings, from home to school, from outdoor spaces to company canteens.
